Job Description NATURE OF POSITION:

The Account Manager is responsible for the management and profitable growth of Tech Air business within an assigned sales territory. The candidate will be required to meet and exceed both corporate and regional objectives for sales growth, profitability growth, and A/R management within the assigned territory. The candidate will need to have the ability to sell all Tech Air products to his/her customer base.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers
• Develop and execute plans to maintain and grow the existing customer base.
• Actively review and manage existing customer Accounts Receivable balances to help minimize Tech Air working capital investment and financial risk
• Establish and maintain clear and consistent lines of communication with internal departments relative to customer successes, customer failures, new customer developments and other customer specific information
• Develop and execute plans to improve Tech Air market share within the assigned sales territory.
• Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations and proposals to prospective customers.
• Qualify and pursue sales leads from other parts of the Tech Air organization
• Keep Tech Air management informed of territory performance, personal performance and market trends through:
• Development and submission of an annual sales plan for the assigned territory
• Regular and on time submission of required sales and activity reports, including itineraries, call reports, “Hot” prospect lists, account wins and losses and other information as required
• Maintains a leadership role in the organization through open and honest communication with all Tech Air associates
• Develop and maintain positive work habits that are conducive to sales and profitability growth, including:
• Maintains focus on safety in the workplace by complying with company safety procedures and practices

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Work closely with local Branch managers to assist in promoting sales and customer management through retail store locations within assigned
geographical area
• Assisting customers in their compliance and training with industry safety standards relating to the products and services that Tech Air delivers
• Execute other tasks as may be assigned by sales management or executive management
• Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

• Ability to perform work doing occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and finger activities.
• Must be able to occasionally work outdoors in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees.
• Talk to and hear customers/co-workers as well as smell/hear leaking gas from cylinders.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, combination of college training and experience considered
• Technical training in welding, gases preferred, technical background in related industries considered

• Knowledge and understanding of financial accounting terms and principals including Gross Margin, Gross Margin %, Operating Income, Return On Investment (ROI), Internal Rate of Return, Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement
• Some understanding of contracts.
• Ability to lead and function within team environments
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage per the Tech Air Automobile Allowance Insurance Coverage Policy.

Job Description BASIC FUNCTION:

As an Inside (Counter) Sales Representative you will sell a variety of welding equipment, hard goods, power tools, safety supplies and industrial gases, to customers. Provide top-notch assistance to customers in selecting the proper gases/tools to complete their project(s) and process the transaction. Stock and track inventory.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Maintain a high level of customer service by assisting customers with will-call, counter, and telephone sales.
• Analyze and expedite customer orders in a timely manner. Meet customer needs by recommending appropriate products/services.
• Enter sales data, quotes, or other information into computer.
• Research information for customers using the computer system.
• Notify customers of orders ready for pick-up.
• Accurately complete all daily, weekly, monthly paperwork on a timely basis.
• Assist manager in ordering appropriate merchandise to ensure stock remains at an acceptable level.
• Restock store merchandise and maintain current pricing on all store displays and products.
• Work with A/R personnel in solving credit holds and collections issues.
• Monitor status of customer owned cylinders brought in for filling or hydro-test purposes.
• Exchange customers' cylinders.
• Maintain and upgrade industry product knowledge and company branch standards and procedures.
• Maintain a neat and presentable store through good housekeeping.
• Work designated or voluntary overtime as required (including weekends).
• Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures and guidelines.
• Ensure proper and full time use of PPE.
• Promptly report any accident or injury.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.

SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform as a backup for other employees during vacations and other periods of personnel shortage.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as required.
• May operate forklift and other equipment as required.
• Other duties and or responsibilities as assigned by Management.

EDUCATION, KNOW-HOW & EXPERIENCE

• Basic knowledge of computer/data entry and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook software programs.
• Must have good math skills; ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages; ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with internal and external customers.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures or governmental regulations (MSDS).
• Ability to routinely lift 25-50 lbs and occasionally lift 51-80 lbs with material handling equipment.
• Team player attitude with ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
• Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
